What Miles With Friends is
Miles with Friends is a social fitness app designed to help you maintain your healthy goals. You and your friends challenge each other to record the miles you travel through exercise (walking, biking, running, swimming, or one of about 70 ways the app helps you calculate your movement) and you keep each other on track toward a shared fitness goal.
Every mile you earn and record in the app, you keep. We believe that is a more positive approach to fitness than simply watching your weight, which can fluctuate and isn't much fun to share with friends. The app is free to use.
How it works
- Create a free account. You can use your existing Facebook login or create a username and password.
- Join a challenge or start your own. Everyone can take part in the current site-wide challenge. To create a private challenge for friends, family, coworkers or neighbors, you give it a name, start and end dates, and a miles goal.
- Log your miles each day. Enter them yourself, or sync automatically with Fitbit.
- Follow the progress together. The leaderboard shows how everyone is stacking up, top finishers earn trophies, and anyone who reaches the group's miles goal earns a goal medal. Organizers who prefer a non-competitive event can choose a progress board instead, which shows shared progress without rankings.
New to organizing a challenge? Our 10-minute setup guide walks through it step by step, and the full guide library covers choosing a goal, inviting friends, and keeping a challenge going.
