Miles with Friends is a social fitness app designed to help maintain your healthy goals.
By challenging yourself along with your friends to record the miles you travel through exercise — from walking, biking, running, swimming or one of 70 ways we help you calculate your movement — you will keep each other on track toward a shared fitness goal.
Every mile you earn and record in the app, you keep. We believe this is a more positive fitness approach than simply watching your weight loss, which can fluctuate (and isn't so much fun to share with your friends).
Through the Miles with Friends app, we empower you to stay active and motivated all year and work as a team for your fitness.
So, let's see how far we can all go together!
"Love Miles with Friends! It keeps me motivated! I've been participating in the site-wide challenges since the beginning, and find I exercise more than not so that I have an entry to make at the end of each day. I'm mostly competitive with myself, but there is friendly competition with the 'friends' on the app, and support, too!"

Some days you just can't get very far, right? Or, moving distances just isn't your thing. So, Miles with Friends provides the option to convert your other exersice and movement routines into equivalent miles travelled.
Simply select the type of activity you performed from the "non-distance type" selection list, and enter the minutes you performed this activity. Miles with Friends will convert your minutes into miles to record into the Leader Board.
Be sure not to "double dip" your miles! If you are also recording your steps with a wearable device or your smart phone, you won't want to include these steps with your non-distance activity record.
This mintues-to-miles conversion is based on scientific research from 2010 published in the journal Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, which you may preview online. (Med Sci Sports Exerc. 2010 Oct; 42(10): 1819-1825.)
Create and manage events and invite your friends to participate.
Please report any issues or unexpected behavior so we can squash those bugs ASAP. Also, send us your ideas for new features and what will make this app your best tool for healthy motivation!
